Early Life and Career
George Harvey Strait Sr. was born on May 18, 1952, in Poteet, Texas. His passion for music began at a young age, and he started playing guitar as a teenager. After graduating high school, Strait attended Southwest Texas State University. During his college years, he formed his first band, the Ace in the Hole Band.In 1975, Strait moved to Nashville to pursue his music career.
