McDavid's goal and assist, Skinner's 34 saves propel Oilers to victory
Edmonton Oilers advance to the Stanley Cup Final for the first time since 2006.
WEB EDMONTON -- Connor McDavid had a goal and an assist for the Edmonton Oilers who advanced to the Stanley Cup Final for the first time since 2006. The Oilers defeated the Dallas Stars 2-1 in Game 6 of the Western Conference Final on Saturday night at Rogers Place.
McDavid opened the scoring for the Oilers at 7:31 of the first period, assisted by Evan Bouchard and Zach Hyman. The Stars tied the game at 1-1 just over two minutes later when Jamie Benn scored, assisted by Miro Heiskanen and Jason Robertson.
The Oilers regained the lead at 16:40 of the second period when Hyman scored, assisted by McDavid and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins. Stuart Skinner made 34 saves for the Oilers while Jake Oettinger made 23 saves for the Stars.
